Taylor & Co has announced yet another successful NMEA Awards
ceremony for the brand. Since receiving its first "Best Fish Finder
Award" from the NMEA in 1971, Furuno has been awarded awards
in various categories every year.
The mission of the NMEA is to contribute to the development
and popularisation of the marine electronics industry. The
association also sets standards for electronic interfaces for
navigation equipment, communication protocols, and other
aspects of marine electronics.
Annually, the NMEA recognises the new products with the best
design, performance and reliability. Since 1971, Furuno has had
the privilege of being awarded 181 NMEA awards, which is more
than any two other manufacturers combined. In 2006, a new
category was added for "Manufacturer of the Year -- Support" and
Furuno was awarded this prestigious title, an honour which Furuno
was awarded again in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. The NMEA
members comprises dealers, distributors, industry experts and
NMEA-approved technicians, and they each vote for who they feel
should win the awards. Therefore, winning these awards helps to
build Furuno's reputation for excellence and reliability among
customers around the world.

The Navnet 3D range is currently operated by the Australian
Defence Forces, Search and Rescue, Department of Primary Industries
and many other commercially operated vessels around Australia.
Also making news are the Transas line of products, which JN
Taylor is now distributing throughout Australia.
JN Taylor's focus on the new line of Transas products is targeted at
the commercial deep sea industry with products such as the
Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS and VDR and the Australian Maritime Pilots
with the Navi-Sailor ECS and Navi-Sailor NS-4000 Pilot Software.
